Land of Skies
I am working on a series of landscapes, inspired by the wide, empty, flat landscape of Het Hoge Land, the area I live in. They are imagined landscapes, emerged from layers of paint, applied with a palette knife. Some layers are sanded to reveal what's underneath. I'm starting small, but planing to go bigger, in preparation for next year's shows.
Paintings
I paint mostly abstract. I used to do portraits as well, but nowadays I tend to go for a more intuitive approach in my work. Often there are landscape elements, like a horizon or leading lines.
