Landscape

blind drawings on teabags

I paint mostly abstract. I used to do portraits as well, but nowadays I tend to go for a more intuitive approach in my work. Often there are landscape elements, like a horizon or leading lines.

I am working on a series of landscapes, inspired by the wide, empty, flat landscape of Het Hogeland, the area I live in. They are imagined landscapes, emerged from layers of paint, applied with a palette knife. Some layers are sanded to reveal what's underneath. I'm starting small, but planing to go bigger, in preparation for next year's shows.

Monoprints

The same process as the regular Oculus series, but this time on black paper. They are each mounted to a 12 x 12 cm panel.
